  1. Manning RCMP are asking drivers to avoid being aggressive in August.
    In a recent report, officers identified several forms including excessive speeding, Running Stop signs, Tailgating, and Failing to Yield.
  2. Many Counties and Municipal Districts have declared Agricultural Disasters in their jurisdictions, because of drought and lack of moisture.
    The latest being Clear Hills County, Big Lakes County, Saddle Hills County and the County of Northern Lights.
  3. Most people are thinking about getting away for a weekend this autumn in the camper, which may target an upgrade.

  4. The Government of Alberta is asking citizens to give feedback on the future of its new Alberta Disability Assistance Program.
    The Government says it’s become clear organizations want supports to meet unique needs and abilities, rather than a one-size-fits-all approach like the one offered by AISH.
  5. While the group representing Canadian insurance companies says Alberta’s plan to shift the province’s auto-insurance system to a care-first model will provide the most generous benefits, it wonders whether it will ultimately save drivers money.
  6. The National Junior Hockey League has expanded into Athabasca. The team will be in the North Division, which includes the High Prairie Red Wings, for the upcoming season.
    The Red Wings and four other teams were intending to separate from the NJHL this season and form the Alberta Elite Junior Hockey League, but the National Junior Hockey League did not accept the separation.
  7. Week 11 of the CFL begins tonight with Ottawa in Winnipeg. The Redblacks are 3-6, the Blue Bombers are 4-4.
  8. The Toronto Blue Jays finish their series at home against the Chicago Cubs this afternoon. Max Scherzer starts for the Jays against Matthew Boyd.
  9. Mostly sunny skies are forecasted for the Northwest this afternoon. Highs are in the upper teens.
    Lows could get frosty tonight at around 5 degrees, with just a few clouds in the skies. Things could get wet Friday night and Saturday.
