Another one for the fans.
Five Nights at Freddy’s 2 (FNAF 2) finally received its long-awaited sequel, and fans love it. It has such a high rating, but the critics absolutely despise it. To be fair, I also think it’s not a good movie, just like the last one…but that doesn’t mean it’s a bad movie. There are a lot of goofy scenes, the lore is crazy, and the plot seems a little all over the place sometimes. But it’s a whole lot of fun. As someone who knows of FNAF, it’s fun to see these characters come to life on the big screen.
For this entry, it picks up after the first movie with Mike, Abby, and Vanessa trying to live normal lives after the events of the first movie. As you may know, or you will find out after watching the trailer below, things don’t go as planned. They learn about the original Freddy’s location and the terrible tragedy that occurred there. Now they have to try to survive with a new threat trying to escape.
In this film, we get to see new animatronics. We have the toy variations as well as some broken prototypes. It’s fun to see the different versions and models that Freddy and the gang have gone through over the years. They also include references to the games, so if you have played them or know some of the lore, you’ll enjoy it even more. One moment, that’s even in the trailer, is when Mike has to sit in the office and watch cameras just like the games. While doing this, the room has big red light buttons and he can even put on a Freddy mask to fool some animatronics.
Overall, if you enjoyed the first one, this one is worth checking out too. If you haven’t seen the first one…watch that, then watch this. These movies follow a different story from the games they are based on, so don’t worry too much about that. Just enjoy the wackiness and craziness that they bring.
