- Investigations are continuing into a fire at the Airport in High Level yesterday morning.
- Snow removal is continuing in the Northwest, after winter fell in the area this past week and weekend.
- Charges against a woman from Trout Lake have been dropped, in relation to a structure fire in Loon Lake.
- The Peace River and District Chamber of Commerce is preparing for two key events coming up.
One is the Municipal Roundtable, which is next Wednesday at the Peace Valley Inns.
The other is the Northern Connections Expo, which is May 1st and 2nd at the Baytex Energy Center. - The Alberta government’s plan to hold a referendum on nine immigration and constitution-related questions in October, is being met with displeasure in both separatist and anti-separatist camps of the province.
- Snow may be seen again today, but the sky may also partially clear this afternoon in the Northwest.
Highs are in the minus teens today, and lows will need the car chord again.
Wednesday will be the warmest of the week at near zero, but then will drop again by the end of the week. The chance of flurries is still present. - With the Olympics over, the NHL will resume their schedule on Wednesday, and the PWHL resumes on Thursday. Both leagues have about six weeks left in the season.
In the NHL, the Trade Deadline is March 6. - MLB has begun Spring Training for the 2026 season in Florida and Arizona. The World Baseball Classic starts next week, with the regular season starting on March 25.
- For the curling fans, the Olympics are over and now the Brier is the focus. It starts Friday in St. John’s Newfoundland.
