This weekend is also the start of Advanced Polls in the federal election.
Polling stations will be open from 9am-9pm from Friday to Monday, to cast your ballot.
Locally, ten candidates are running in the two ridings in the Northwest.
In Grande Prairie, the candidates are:
- Chris Warkentin for the Conservatives,
- Jennifer Villebrun of the NDP,
- Maureen McLeod for the Liberals,
- Shawn McLean of the People’s Party of Canada,
- Donovan Eckstrom of the Rhino Party, and
- Elliot McDavid as an Independant.
In Peace River-Westlock, the candidates are:
- Arnold Viersen for the Conservatives,
- Landon Tischer for the NDP,
- Luke Markowski for the Liberals, and
- Darrell Teske as an Independant.
