
Alberta’s government investing over $4 million into dual credit programs for the 2025-26 school year, enabling high school students to earn both high school and post-secondary credits simultaneously.
This initiative aims to prepare students for future careers in fields such as carpentry, automotives, welding, hairstyling, and education assistant training.
Education Minister Demetrios Nicolaides emphasized the importance of these programs, stating they help students explore job opportunities and gain a head start in their chosen fields.
Additionally, $550,000 is allocated to enhance health care aide programs, addressing the demand for skilled professionals in the healthcare sector.
Minister Jason Nixon highlighted the vital role of health care aides in supporting seniors and vulnerable Albertans.
Furthermore, the province is accepting applications for collegiate school funding for the 2026-27 school year, with $8 million in operating funding and $215 million in capital investment available to support start-up and expansion costs.
